Is this admissible in court?
WhereWere is not a legal tool and makes no legal guarantees. It's a social trust layer — like a notarized note between people who know each other. For legal matters, consult an attorney.
How is this different from just taking a screenshot?
Screenshots are editable and have no trusted third-party component. WhereWere uses a server-controlled timestamp (you can't spoof it) and requires your trusted contact to independently confirm your location. Neither party can alter the record after creation.
What if my witness doesn't have the app?
You can share a public link to any stamp. Anyone with the link can view the stamp — no account needed. Formal witnessing requires a free account (to prevent impersonation).
Does WhereWere track my location all the time?
No. We only capture your location at the exact moment you tap "Stamp Me Here." There is no background tracking. You control every stamp.
What happens to my data?
Stamps are immutable once created — we cannot alter them on your behalf. You can soft-delete unwitnessed stamps from your own feed. Witnessed stamps are permanent. We do not sell your data.
